County Armagh’s performances on day two of Milk Cup failed to match the memorable results of the opening fixtures but officials picked out plenty of positives.

The Junior Section match finished in a 2-0 defeat to Swindon Town, with the Orchard County seniors losing out to Newcastle United by the same margin.

“In the Newcastle match, we certainly matched them for the first hour,” said Dean McCullough, the County Armagh Milk Cup Association chairman. “The juniors deserve a lot of credit for the second half.”

In the Junior Section, Glenavon’s Scott Megaw and Lurgan Town’s Patrick McPartland were joined by Lurgan-born Shayne Lavery in the starting line-up. The Premier Section side kicked off with Lurgan-born Shane McPartland and Connor Jordan. Glenavon’s Scott Rae was highlighted for special praise and Ciaran Corry from Lurgan joined as a substitute.
