Friendlies continue as Glenavon go to Drogheda Town on Saturday

The Lurgan Blues defeated Dundela on Tuesday night 4-2 and on Wednesday night they drew 1-1 at Loughgall.

Simon Kelly missed both midweek games after he suffered a dead leg in the game with Everton.

David Elebert is also an injury concern.

With manager Gary Hamilton away on holiday until the Dundela game assistant Paul Millar has been in charge.

“We hope to arrange a few more games against Championship 1 and 2 opposition before the season begins to keep the match fitness right,” said Millar.

“We like to play about 12 games in our build-up to the start of the league campaign. We have already had some great games against top opposition.

“After the European games we gave the boys a week off. Now we are back again but while you want everyone to have game time you also have to be careful you don’t burn out. We have been back since the start of June so you have to plan it right.”

The game in Drogheda kicks-off at 3.00pm.
