GLENAVON will be hoping to lift themselves out of the doldrums tonight (Monday) with Glentoran the opposition in the IRN-BRU League Cup quarter-final tie at Mourneview Park, kick off 7.45pm.
After a crushing 5-1 league defeat at Crusaders on Saturday, the Lurgan Blues could be doing with some cheer at present and victory would certainly give everyone at the club a huge lift.
Manager Gary Hamilton is likely to make changes with Marc Brown, Kris Lindsay and Ciaran Martyn set to start.
In the previous rounds Glenavon defeated Sport and Leisure Swifts 6-1 and Dergview 1-0.
Normal admission prices of £10 and £6 apply and season tickets are not valid. Extra time and penalties will be played if necessary to decide the tie.
As for the trip to Seaview on Saturday it was a day to forget. James Singleton had two chances to score in the early stages but after that it was tough going with the Crues firing in five goals before a brilliant goal from Andy McGrory proved a mere consolation for the visitors.
See this week’s Lurgan Mail for coverage of both games.
