Stars from the past, including Jackie Hughes, Sammy Wilson, Denis Guy, Tony Grant, Paul Byrne and Mark Glendinning will be on hand to sign copies of the book for supporters at the launch, which will take place at 1pm in the Bedeck Suite.

The book is an updated version of the late Malcolm Brodie’s ‘Glenavon Football Club: 100 Years’, issued to celebrate the club’s centenary in 1989.

A lot has happened over the past 25 years - three Irish Cup wins, plenty of trips to Europe and a first ever relegation are testament to that. The highs and lows have been recorded by lifelong Lurgan Blues supporter Michael Scott.

For fact fans there are pages upon pages of statistics which have been brought right up to date to include Glenavon’s recent adventures in Europe, plus new pictures from down the decades have been included of the big names who have pulled on the blue shirt such as Ray McCoy, Stevie McBride, Glenn Ferguson, Tony Grant and Gary Hamilton.

Pre-orders began last Wednesday and since then it has proven to be extremely popular, particularly the limited edition hardback version which has been declared a sell-out. Anyone who has chosen to collect their copy can do so on the launch day, and pre-orders for the paperback version are still being taken via the club’s website.

Fans who haven’t pre-ordered can still pick up a copy on the day of the launch and thereafter it will be on sale in the Glenavon club shop and through glenavonfc.com.

The book will retail at £10 (paperback) with a limited edition hardback run also available, priced at £15. For further details about how to pre-order visit www.glenavonfc.com
