Hoops almost over the line

Lurgan Celtic are on their way up to Championship 1 after moving a step closer to promotion on Tuesday night.

They came from a goal down to beat local rivals Dollingstown 2-1 at Planters Park.

Leading goalscorer Raymond Fitzpatrick bagged both goals and the Hoops are now five points clear of second placed Annagh United and six ahead of Limavady with two games left. With a healthy goal difference of nine over Limavady it would take two heavy defeats to deny them promotion.

Celtic can go up as champions if they beat Sport & Leisure in their final home game of the season at Knockramer on Tuesday night.
