Pablo Andrade’s first-half finish today (Thursday) sent County Armagh into a Milk Cup final and opportunity to close the week with silverware.
The striker collected the ball outside the area, held off one rival and moved past a second marker before steering home an angled drive against County Fermanagh.
The Orchard County boys held the upper hand in terms of possession across the Medallion semi-final at Portstewart’s The Warren.
However, County Fermanagh produced late pressure courtesy of set-piece play before the final whistle confirmed victory.
“Pablo was a real threat and scored a great goal,” said Dean McCullough, chairman of the County Armagh Milk Cup Association. “He made the chance and finished it well.
“Jamie Haughey clipped the top of the crossbar with a long-range shot.
“Eoin McCluskey forced the goalkeeper into a good save then Reese McInerney’s follow-up shot hit the bar.”
County Armagh will now face Sydney United tomorrow (Saturday) in Portstewart’s Seahaven from 11 o’clock.
Team: Connor Larkin, Conor Kerr, Josh McCarten, Eoin Toal, Tiarnan O’Neill, Reese McInerney, Oran Power, Zac Wilson, Shea Geraghty, Eoin McCluskey, Pablo Andrade.
