Aaron Willis grabbed the game’s only goal as Lurgan BBOB recorded a 1-0 success away to Glenavy.

The Mid-Ulster League Division Two meeting featured a strong start in Moira as BBOB spent time on the backfoot.

However, Matthew Kennedy, Paul Wright, Lindsay Totten and goalkeeper Seth Mathers battled to protect the clean sheet.

The BBOB response featured a Simon Dowey pass which Willis collected but the latter’s shot was blocked.

Dowey delivered again from wide but Andrew Smyth’s header drifted past the target.

Smyth’s corner-kick across the face of goal also offered an opening but lacked the decisive touch.

The breakthrough arrived after the break when Ben Mullen found Smyth and his pass sent Alex Dowey clear along the right.

Dowey picked out Philip Moutray, with Peter Foster eventually producing the delivery converted by Willis.

The slick team goal provided a fitting reward for the Old Boys’ efforts.
