Former Down star gets job at Tones

FORMER Down star Michael Magill will manage the Wolfe Tones club in 2008.

The Warrenpoint man played at right corner back in the All-Ireland final in 1994 along side Brian Burns and Paul Higgans.

Magill had been in charge of the Warrenpoint seniors for the past two seasons and his appointment comes at a time when the Tones are facing the prospect of a gruelling 2008 season.

Michael Magill captained the Down side which played Armagh in the 1999 Ulster Senior Football Final.
