Glenravel youngsters claim first belts
THIRTY-four local youngsters eagerly gathered at St. Mary's Parish Centre on the Lisamanny Road, Martinstown to take their first belt exam or 'grading' at Glenravel Ju-Jitsu Club.
The Senior section, who are currently recruiting new members, successfully passed four students to their first grade - that of White belt.
The club runs from 10.30 to 11.30am on Saturday mornings for Juniors and 11.30 to 1.00pm for Seniors. Sensei Niall Kerr, who is Senior Club Coach, is offering a free trial class to anyone interested to join.
You just need to come down ten minutes before the class start time, wearing loose fitting clothing. (No trainers required as training is done in bare feet.)
