League success completes double

LURGAN Tigers under 11s completed an NCU double on Monday.

They defeated Ballymena in the final of the league competition to go with the Quoile Cup they won earlier in the season.

In a reduced overs match due to the bad weather, Lurgan posted 76 for four from their 17 overs.

Jonny Hunter top scored with 21 and he was well supported by Scott Wilson who finished unbeaten on 21.

In reply Ballymena made it to 66 for three from their 17 overs.

Neil Allen returned the best figures with 1-7 from his three overs.

This brought the league campaign to a close and skipper Jonny Hunter held the Charles Beverland Trophy aloft in front of his jubilant team mates.
