David Menaul has been appointed the new coach at Lurgan Ladies Hockey Club.
He joins Lisa Costley and Darwin Murray at the club and is looking forward to a new challenge after a spell last season at Carrickfergus.
“I’ve worked with a few of the girls before through Ulster U16 and U18 programmes, so hopefully won’t take me to long to get to know the players,” said David.
“I will be working very closely this year with assistant coach Lisa Costley and manager Darwin Murray with the aim of continuing the fine work they and the girls did last season.
“My aspirations for the season ahead will be kept in house between the coaching team and girls. I don’t want to create an environment were the girls might feel pressure of any sort, we will be having fun and hopefully creating a training and playing environment were the girls know they will be working hard but also will train and play with smiles on their faces.
“I will also be aiming to work closely with the Seconds coach Ivor Lennon and helping in the target of a successful Seconds, but also a team were the girls will be improving and challenging for first team places.”
Lurgan Ladies return to training on July 7.
