European title bout the pick of fight night

European, All-Ireland and national titles across multiple combat sports disciplines will be on the line this weekend.

Fighters from across the borough and beyond have been preparing for a special night in Portadown’s The Seagoe Hotel.

Male and female competitors will step into the ring in pursuit of kickboxing and boxing belts.

Bleary’s Simon Grey - a current light-heavyweight champion at Northern Ireland, European and British kickboxing levels - will tackle Alae Eddine Kahkouh from the respected VOS Gym in Holland.

The European title fight marks the highlight of packed 18-bout programme.

Lurgan’s Tommy Harvey and Patrick Doran from Derrymacash can look forward to competing for All-Ireland titles against Republic of Ireland-based rivals.

A Northern Ireland Muay Thai belt will be up for grabs across the middleweight division between Bangor’s Phil Townley and Poland-born Adam Gustab.

White Collar Boxing dates have been confirmed to include fighters from the area such as Simon Forde, Glen King, David Dickson and Sharon Rogers.

Rui Oliveria, Darren Connelly, Chris McGinley and Romania-born Daniel Balan will also feature on the bill.

Clubs represented on the night will include New Era MMA Lurgan, Fight Club NI and Enzo’s Sports.

Admission is payable at the door, with everyone welcome to show support from 6.45 ahead of the 7.30 start time.
