Having made the step up to senior rugby with some aplomb, Lurgan College student Mark McIlwaine made his debut for Lurgan Firsts on Saturday and scored five tries in the process.
With the schools’ rugby season over Mark had impressed in a couple of outing for the Seconds which earned him a call up to the Firsts for the visit of Civil Service to Pollock Park.
As well as Mark’s five tries his brother Ben also got on the scoresheet with two tires as did Dean Wilson (one try) and Stephen Nolan (six conversions and one penalty) to leave the final score 55-5 to Lurgan, meaning the home side were able to toast the victory with the Wolfhound Cup.
