Annabel Wilson completed a remarkable hat-trick at the weekend.

The Lurgan teenager secured the Irish Girls Close Championship with a 4/3 win over Mary Doyle.

Having recently won the Ulster Girls and Leinster under 15 Championships this latest success is her third win in just 23 days.

Annabel defeated Rachel Taylor from Laytown and Bettystown on the 20th hole to reach the final.

The 13-year old then beat leading qualifier and recently crowned Irish Women’s Amateur Close champion Mary Doyle from The Heath by 4 and 3 at Shannon on Sunday.

The Lurgan ace dominated from the start, winning the first in birdie and the fifth in par to go two up.

She lost the sixth to Doyle’s par but birdied the seventh to go two up again and then won the ninth in par to go three up. Another win in par at the 13th but the Lurgan star four up with five to play before she closed out the match at the 15th.

A superb achievement by the Lurgan girl who
