Sarsfields coach Barry Shanks finished fifth in the DUNE (Dundalk – Newry) half marathon last week.

This event took place Sunday 16th March with 375 competitors taking place. Barry completed the half marathon in 1 hour and 21 minutes and 36 seconds.

Well done to Sarsfields committee member Brian Stevenson for completing the Casement Park to Croke Park challenge in aid of the charity DeterMND (Motor Neurone Disease).

This cycle happened on Sunday 16th March and was completed by 120 cyclists.

Many thanks to all those who attended the Sarsfields quiz recently.

The quiz attracted a large crowd and raised much needed funds for the football teams.

Coaching for primary 5 and 6 boys and girls continues Wednesdays from 6pm to 7pm in the car park. Coaching for primary 1 and 2 boys and girls continues in the Hall this Wednesday night from 7pm to 8pm. Coaching for under 12’s continues this Saturday from 2pm to 3pm in the Hall.

Gum shields are available to buy from the club for £3 and are to be worn at all coaching sessions.

Club membership is now due. No football player is permitted to play football without paying membership. Sinead will be available in Sarsfields Hall on Wednesdays 6pm – 8pm to collect club membership and any coaching Access NI forms (along with ID).

Any coaches or helpers interested in coaching with teams this year: vetting forms need to be completed by the end of this week.

All forms be handed in to Sinead on Wednesday 6-8pm in Sarsfields Hall.

Lotto: The numbers for Sunday 24th March were 1 3 16 22. 3 number winners were Hugh McMahon, Kieran McAlinden and Jim O’Hagan.
