IN difficult conditions Pat Hughes lifted the Greer Cup by five shots after carding a nett 66.
Pat, who plays off 26, had five pars and only one seven on her card which was steady golf on a course that was playing long and tricky. It’s great to see Pat back to full health and she can look forward to lifting her trophy at the end of the season’s silverware night.
Niamh McSherry won the gross prize with 78. Niamh had a lovely front nine of two over but some heavy showers on the back nine could well have led to a few bogeys.
The section 1 prize went to Lady Captain Anne Knox with a net 71. Anne has been close to the prizes for a few weeks and everyone will be delighted that she has got over the line this week. Anne has been working hard supporting teams and working behind the scenes. So it’s great to see all her hard work isn’t hindering her golf.
The dominance of the McKavanagh’s continues this week with Nuala Beatty winning section 2 with a net 72 and sister Eithne McAtavey winning section 3 with a net 73.
