Sarsfields scored three goals and the same number of points but missed out on Division Two glory to St Patrick’s Carrickcruppen.

The Saints’ tally of 4-10 wrapped up the under 16s’ Championship crown following a flowing game in Armagh.

Oisin Smyth posted Sarsfields’ first score, off a free-kick, then ended the half by grabbing a goal - with Kevin McAlinden registering the assist having earlier scored a point.

St Patrick’s entered the interval up by 2-6 to 1-2 and a second-half run of 1-3 left Sarsfields on the backfoot.

Smyth scored another point before McAlinden added to the team’s run of goals.

McAlinden doubled his personal tally of goals before the final whistle.

Mark Allison picked up an injury over the closing stages but has recovered.

Leading players for St Patrick’s included Lorcan McParland, Richard Keenan, James Bennett, Jason Dobbin, Cathal Byrne and Turlough Marks.
