Lurgan golfer Gareth Shaw endured a frustrating finale to the Northern Ireland Open Challenge at Galgorm Castle on his way to joint 12th.
Shaw came home in six under par and highlighted the need to convert positive early play into consistent periods as his main concern.
“I can’t put my finger on it but it just seems to be the way at the moment,” said Shaw on the final day. “In Norway, Finland and now this week, the weekends have been poor.
“It’s strange and frustrating because it’s the business end of the week, where you earn your money and sometimes your feel like you’re throwing away money.
“If I had played well today I might have been able to finish second or third but that didn’t happen.
“It’s great that Galgorm decide they want to host it and get all the sponsors on board.”
