Lurgan B claimed a superb six-shot haul from the home success against Antrim by 81-75.

It marked an extension of impressive performances against Dromore and Warrenpoint for the in-form Lurgan bowlers.

On rink one, Sam Neill, Charlie Maguire, Milne Jones and Mike Parr recovered from a shot down at the 18th end to lift four off the closing two in a 19-16 win.

It proved a crucial contribution towards the Lurgan success on home soil.

Will McCullough, Melvyn Hamilton, Bobby Livingstone and Bobby Jones raced clear on rink two by 13-2 after eight ends.

Antrim hit back to close the gap thanks to success across nine of the remaining ends that reduced the gap to just 16-14 by the 17th.

Lurgan edged home by 18-17 following a determined display.

Gerry Stewart was skip on rink three as Lurgan hit 15 ends down by three shots.

Rodney McCarthy, Michael Steen and Albert Houston helped to complete the rink and Lurgan produced a superb finale to the meeting with success on the remaining ends for a slick 22-15 triumph.

Eamonn Quinn, Brian Brown, Neil Sloan and Vincent Devlin worked hard on rink four.

Lurgan were just 14-12 down thanks to hard work across 18 ends against a determined Antrim outfit.

However, the loss of single shots over the final three ends resulted in a 22-17 reverse.

Lurgan B now sit second in NIBA Division Five aiming to close the 2.5-point gap on leaders Newry.

The two leading sides will face off in a few weeks for what should prove a thrilling tussle.
