Alexis lands Ulster tennis title
BALLYMENA tennis star Alexis Russell won the final of the recent Ulster Graded Tennis tournament.
The competition, the last major event on the tennis calendar for 2008, attracted hundreds of players of all calibres from all over Ireland to Belfast Boat Club.
Alexis, who runs her own tennis academy in Ballymena, won the Grade A ladies' singles, beating Irene Hewitt of the Belfast Boat Club 6/3, 6/3 in easy sets.
Alexis has had a great season winning ladies singles titles at Limavady and Irvinestown earlier this year plus she and her twin Kerri won the doubles at Ballycastle.
They also played each other in the singles finals at Ballycastle where Kerri won that time.
