New tennis club to open in Kells

A NEW tennis club opens in Kells this Saturday, January 24.

The grand opening of the ATT Club in Kells, situated at 2 Maine Road, takes place from 1-4pm.

Hot dogs and refreshments will be served and there will be on-court fun and games for all ages and standards, so bring your racket!

The Club will run as a separate entity to the ATT Academy which has been established now for a couple of years.

However, with the Club’s affiliation to Tennis Ireland, it will allow any burgeoning talents to enter Tennis Ireland tournaments and join Belfast and District Tennis tournaments.

The coaches, twins Alexis and Kerri Russell – tennis champions in their own right – have nurtured many young players with success at the highest level.

“We are very proud to have no less than nine of our academy players under 16 placed either first or second in the North East Regional tournaments securing their places in the provincial finals” says Kerri.

Alexis stressed the advantages of joining the club for both experienced players and novices – there will be adult and junior club nights and social events will also be organised during the course of the year. Special introductory membership offers will be available at Saturday’s open day.

Further information is available on the club’s website www.ateamtennis.co.uk
