Tennis success for ladies' team
BALLYMENA intermediate ladies tennis team beat Bangor A team in the final of the Intermediate Ladies Knock out Cup on Saturday 31st July 2010.
The team, consisting on Vladimira Jantakova, Lorraine Donnelly, Karen Cherry and Laura McKelvey battled their way to the final by beating Cavehill, Bangor B and Hawarden.
On the day they faced strong opposition against Bangor A, holders of the title for 2 years running, playing an exciting match to reach a final score of 3 matches to 1.
This is the first time Ballymena has ever won this title so it is especially exciting for Ballymena Lawn Tennis Club.
The cup will be presented to the ladies on October 6 at the Belfast boat club.
