Game could have gone either way

LURGAN Tigers Under 15’s weather postponed premier league match against Ballynahinch was played on Saturday 5 January at Pollock Park and for only the second time in this season’s league competition the Tigers suffered defeat by 34 points to 22.

Tigers were hit an early blow when Hinch retained possession from the initial kick-off and went on to score a break away try. For most of the match Tigers found themselves under attack.

Nonetheless, Tigers had their moments. A fine pick up and dive try in the corner by Scott Wilson, a try from a typical scorching run by Michael Watson and two excellent tries by Cormac Sheehy following his own kicks and chases kept Tigers well in the match until the last few minutes. Although they were never in the lead, Tigers were only 3 points down at half time and only 5 points behind with some 10 minutes to go. The match could still have gone either way, depending on the breaks, unfortunately for Tigers the final break fell to Ballynahinch who broke through once more for a converted try to settle the match.

Tigers Squad: Michael Boulos, Lewis Lawson, Nathan Dawson, Declan Foster, Motiejus Cizauskas, Harry Woods, Ryan Emerson, Joe McKinley, Benjamin Greer, Victor Mackenzie, Scott Wilson, Jonny Hunter, Adam O’Connor, Ben Cunningham, Max Hamilton, Michael Watson, Cormac Sheehy, Ben Jones, Barry McCambridge.
