Good work continues for P4s

AFTER last week’s impressive win at Ballynahinch, the Lurgan P4 Tigers continued their excellent winning streak away to Lisburn on Saturday.

With the return of some key players, the young P4 side were able to field two full strength teams against the home side, and dominated each game, winning all 4 matches with some excellent flowing rugby, strong tackling, and an abundance of tries on show.

The support play, the tackling back, the winning the ball in the maul, the solid defence and the communication between the players delighted coaches Peter McMath and Stuart Wilson who singled out Jude Matthews for his superb tackling, along with the energy of the returning Callum O’Neill and the quick-hands of Peter McGrath and Ryan Matthews in a game where every player played his part, tries were impressively notched up, and on a day when everything certainly went right for the visitors.

Overall try scorers: Noah Parks 9, Ben Mitchell 9, Mitch McClelland 8, Peter Bird 3, Peter McGrath 2, Ryan Matthews 2, Jack Shannon 2, Callum O’Neill 2, Sam Stephenson, Andrew Moriarty and Jude Matthews.

This Saturday the P4’s are at home to Dromore in what should be a very tough encounter. Kick off 10am at Pollock Park.
