Lurgan beat Limavady to lift Gordon West Trophy

Lurgan Rugby Club won the Gordon West Trophy on Saturday in a gripping final at the Kingspan Stadium.

It was a fantastic performance as Lurgan stunned hot favourites Limavady by a point.

The final result was 32-31 in favour of the local side with the trophy on its way back to Pollock Park after a long 16 year wait.

It was Lurgan’s first appearance in the final of the competition since they won the inaugural event back in 2000.

They had lost both league meetings with Limavady this season, bit on the day Lurgan produced a heroic effort to lift the trophy once again.
