Ryan on the target again

LURGAN Celtic bounced back from their defeat against Glenavon with a 5-1 victory over All Saints at Lurgan Town on Saturday lunch time.

Raymond Fitzpatrick made his first appearance after his recent marriage and was on the scoresheet while Daniel Ryan scored the other four in another fine display and his pre season tally is now six goals in three games.

Once the front two have a few games under their belt they will be a danger to any opposition.

The Hoops open their league campign with a trip to Queens this Saturday but the game will take place at Sport and Leisure’s pitch on the Glen Road as the students new complex won’t be ready until October. Kick Off is 3pm.

The club are still seeking enquires from interested parties to help out with team attendant duties due to the unavailability of Aiden Smith still recovering after a spell in hospital.

Anyone wishing to offer their services should contact Maurice McEvoy on 07810 235 185 or make themselves known at Knockramer Park on Saturday, August 13, when Portstewart are in opposition.

Arrangements are well in place for the club’s big night being held in the INF club in North Street when World Snooker Champ John Higgins will be appearing.

Tickets are selling well for this so it would be advisable to purchase as soon as possible to avoid disappointment
