St Patrick's win Blitz

THE annual Lurgan Credit Union Primary Schools' 'Blitz' competition took place in St Paul's Junior High School, Lurgan.

One again, the proceedings were blessed with excellent weather as the local primary schools battled out for the prestigious prizes.

At the end of the preliminary stages, some interesting quarter-finals were thrown up, before St Patrick’s Aghagallon and St Patrick’s, Derrymacash emerged to take on St Francis and Tannaghmore. It was Tannaghmore who emerged to play St Patrick’s, Derrymacash in the final, where the boys from Aghacommon emerged as winners after an exciting final.

In the Plate section, St Brendan’s took part in the final for the third year in a row, before going down to St Francis ‘B’ team.

The competition was organised and officiated by the Year 12 GCSE group who were complimented on their efforts by Mrs Fiona Clarke of Lurgan Credit Union before she presented the Shields to the winning captains, Conor Keegan of St Patrick’s, Derrymacash and Damian Lynch of St Francis.
