Ulster title for Stuart
LURGAN College student Stuart Hanlon is an Ulster Championship winner.
The 14-year-old from Waringstown has won the Youth A (age 16-18) Ulster Motorcycle Trials Championship.
He started riding at the age of nine on a Yamaha TY 80 and currently rides a 125 Gas Gas.
Stuart said: "It was a close fight right to the end of the season against 17-year-old Gareth Mackey from Lisburn.
“There were 10 rounds over the series with the best eight counting and I was so pleased to get the title.
“For the past two years I decided to compete at the higher level to push myself and gain experience in the older age group, and it paid off, as I was able to claim the Youth A Championship at only 14.
“The 2010/2011 season will start in September of this year. In the meantime I will pick up a few local summer events, and hopefully a British round, and then in August I will travel to compete in Scarborough with the Ulster team.”
