AROUND 60 people attended a talk on the benefits of healthy eating in Moira recently, and in doing so helped raise £300 in aid of the Northern Ireland Chest heart and Stroke charity.

The venue was Pimento Coffee Shop which was packed to the rafters on Tuesday, April 16 to hear local experts discuss the health benefits of eating fresh produce and taste dishes served up during the cookery demonstration.

Irene McCaffrey, of Impact Fitness, explained how eating fresh food can make you strong, fit and enjoy good health for much longer.

A representative of local butcher’s, Hannan Meats Ltd, discussed the difference in quality between shop bought and locally butchered meat, while Diane Gardiner gave a cookery demonstration showing how easy it is to use local food produce to make simple and easy meals for the family.
