LURGAN comedian Sean Hegarty, fresh from supporting Patrick Kielty on his Irish tour, is opening a new comedy club in Belfast this weekend.

The opening of Bar Bacca Comedy Club (next door to Eivissa Nightclub) is a massive gamble for the king of one-liners and will prove to be a big boost to the future of Northern Irish comedy.

It will be the only live comedy event in the Belfast area on a Friday and Saturday night and Sean vows to bring the biggest and best acts to the capital. “In the first month, I’ve got Foil Arms & Hog, Neil Dougan and another Lurgan favourite, Micky Bartlett to name a few,” he said.

Also confirmed in the opening weekend is Craigavon musical comedian, Phil McEwan.

The grand opening will be marked with a champagne reception and a very reasonable entry fee of only £7.
