Plans for new neighbourhood on top of Co Armagh playing fields
Plans have been submitted for a new housing estate on top of Lurgan Rugby, Football, and Cricket Club.
The News Letter has unearthed the planning application, sent to planning officials on April 14, via the government’s planning website.
The applicant is Endeavour Building Ltd, based on Ballynagarrick Road, Portadown, and set up in 2017.
The 5.6 hectare (14 acre) site of the development is given in the plans as “Lurgan Rugby Club, Pollock Park”, and an outline blueprint of the area shows it encompassing all of the playing fields and the club house and car park.
The developers say a website setting out details of the development will go live from May 3 (though no web address is given yet), and say that neighbours of the development will get leaflets from April 26 (Monday) onwards.
They also say all Lurgan councillors, Upper Bann MLAs, and Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart have been notified of the plan.
The plan falls under the jurisdiction of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.
