A Co Armagh playgroup has been saved after a community rallied round to safeguard prevent it closing.
SDLP Cllr Eamon McNeill paid tribute to the community in Maghery who he said ‘pulled out the stops’ this week when Loughshore Playgroup was under threat.
Cllr McNeill said: “The most successful outcomes from the meeting were securing the viability of the Playgroup and establishing a Loughshore Playgroup Committee. This Committee certainly have hit the ground running with fundraising events and refurbishments planned.
“What an example of local enthusiasm and pulling the stops out when needed.
Alliance Cllr Eóin Tennyson said: “Really delighted to hear the news that Loughshore Playgroup will be opening its doors again in September. A testament to the support and goodwill by the local community.”
