POPULAR singer Brendan Quinn performs ‘The Neil Diamond Songbook’ - a two-hour musical masterpiece highlighting the songs and life of the great Neil Diamond - in the Market Place Theatre, Armagh on Friday, November 12.
The show will feature all the Diamond classics such as ‘Sweet Caroline’, ‘Forever In Blue Jeans’, ‘I’m A Believer’, ‘Red Red Wine’ and ‘Cracklin’ Rosie’ to name but a few and a few hidden surprises that are sure to raise the roof. Accompanying the show will be a host of top musicians helping to re-create the Diamond sound.
Speaking of his excitement at the forthcoming show Brendan Quinn said, “Ever since I first heard him perform Solitary Man in the late 1960s the music of Neil Diamond has made a big impression on me.
“I have always included Neil Diamond tracks among my repertoire and they have always been well received, so it is wonderful to get the opportunity to play a whole set. I don’t aim to ‘imitate’ Neil Diamond but I do want to recreate the intimate atmosphere which is such a trademark of his style.”
Known as ‘The Mighty Quinn’, Brendan is a legend in his own right as an Irish and Country Music performer having shared stages with performers such as Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers and Kris Kristofferson.
‘The Neil Diamond Songbook’ will be staged at The Market Place on Friday, November 12, at 8pm. Tickets are priced £16.50 each, and can be booked by contacting the box office on 3752 1821, or online at www.marketplacearmagh.com
