Lurgan pupils learn to ‘bee safe’
Over 610 pupils from 17 primary schools across the Craigavon area, including St Francis’, recently learnt how to ‘Bee Safe’ not sorry at an innovative safety event focusing on the prevention of accidents and raising awareness of personal safety.
Organised by the Police and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP), the ‘Bee Safe’ event is a safety learning initiative, which helps primary six and primary seven pupils gain vital knowledge on how to implement good safety habits, deal with hazards and how to avoid dangerous everyday situations.
Members of the PSNI, NI Fire and Rescue Service, Translink, NI Railways, Northern Ireland Electricity Networks and the council home safety team all delivered fun and informative interactive workshops promoting personal and home safety during the event, which took place in Brownstown Community Centre.
The pupils took part in quizzes, watched fire safety demonstrations and learnt about internet safety throughout the day.
