A visit by Kerry GAA legend Mick O’Dwyer to Lurgan in 2002 to promote his new book proved to be a major success.

Two scheduled visits took place at the St Paul’s and Sarsfields club but the biggest turn out was at Clan na Gael’s Davitt Park.

The former Kerry player and manager during his talks at the venues focused a lot on the problems facing young people in society.

He was asked by ‘MAIL’ GAA correspondent Eugene Creaney who was the better between the Down side of the sixties of the Kerry team he managed.

Mick said Down were top class but only won two All-Irelands while his side were on top for 12 years and won eight titles in the space of ten years.
