A former aide to DUP MP for Upper Bann David Simpson has been charged with voyeurism.

David McConaghie (49) has been charged voyeurism in the Thomas Street area of Portadown in 2012.

He is due to appear before Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 24.

The charges relate to offences between January 1, 2012 and September 12, 2012.

McConaghie, who lives in Dollingstown, had been a press officer and speech writer to the Upper Bann MP.

McConaghie was arrested in 2012 when a camera was found in Mr Simpson’s constituency office.

He no longer works for Mr Simpson and is no longer a member of the DUP.

As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
