Accused of assaulting ambulance worker

A woman accused of assaulting an ambulance worker was told the courts took any assault on medical staff as exceptionally serious.

Kerry Anne Devlin (32), Leesway Drive, Manchester, appeared last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

The charge against her is that on July 31 this year she assaulted a female ambulance worker in the execution of her duty.

Her solicitor, who pleaded guilty on her behalf, said that she lived permanently in Manchester.

District Judge, Mrs Bernie Kelly, said the court took an assault on any member of the medical profession or emergency services as exceptionally serious.

She adjourned sentencing in the case until January 11 next year so that a pre-sentence report could be prepared.
