Accused of rape and sexual assault

A 41-year-old man accused of rape and sexual assault had his police bail converted to court bail on Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

Neil Alexander Fullerton, Portmore Street, Portadown, had previously been released on court bail.

He is charged that between May 11 and May 12 this year he intentionally administrated a substance to a female with the intent of overpowering her so that a person could engage in sexual activity involving her.

Fullerton is also accused that during the same dates attempted to choke, suffocate or strangle the same female to render her incapable of resistance to enable himself or another person to commit assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He is further charged with sexual assault by penetration, rape and possession of cannabis.

The conditions of his bail are that he is to reside at his home address with a curfew from 7pm to 7am and he is not to be under the influence of alcohol in a public place.

Fullerton is to have no contact with the alleged injured party and is not to have a child under the age of 18 in his home.

He will also be subject to an electronic monitoring tag.

Fullerton was remanded to appear again in court on these charges of September 28.
