Appeal after cattle stolen from field

Police have appealed for information following the theft of a number of cattle from the Aughlish Road area of Scarva.

It is thought the animals, comprising Simmental, Hereford and Aberdeen Angus breeds, were taken between 2pm on July 20 and 7pm the following day.

Constable Heaney said, “It is thought a cattle trailer was used in this theft, and we are appealing to anyone who noticed any suspicious behaviour in and around the area to call police on the 101 number quoting reference 1207 of 21.7.16.”
