Appeal after van cuts through crossing

Police in Lurgan are appealing for information following an incident at the railway crossing on William Street on Saturday, 1 October.

Around 3.05pm a small, blue van overtook a number of cars stopping for the barrier and cut through the crossing, heading towards the motorway.

Police are keen to speak to the driver r anyone who witnessed the incident and can be contacted in Lurgan on 0845 600 8000.

Inspector Leslie Badger of Lurgan Police Station said: “It is foolhardy in the extreme to ignore safety barriers around railway lines. Not only are you putting yourself at risk but you are also risking the lives of every road user around you and railway passengers.”
