Instead of driving straight on at the top of William Street in Lurgan a motorist turned left into North Street in breach of a traffic sign.
Ryan Martin (21), Markville, Bleary, was fined £75 last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court and given three points. A further £75 and three points were imposed for having a defective tyre and he was also fined £50 for not having a rear number plate.
The court heard that at the traffic lights at the top of William Street he turned left into North Street which is not permitted.
He had no previous convictions and was fully co-operative with police. Martin, who pleaded guilty himself in court, said the turn was a ‘stupid decision’ and the number plate had fallen off that morning.
