A 45-year-old-man was arrested in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday) after what police are treating as a hate crime.

A report was received of criminal damage to a property located at Woodville Street.

Police ascertained on visiting the property that damaged had been caused to several windows of the house.

The was subsequently arrested for criminal damage and is assisting police with enquiries.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “We are treating this as a hate crime. Hate crime, discrimination and intimidation have no place in our society and I know that the vast majority of you do not want this in your community.
