Breaking news: Police investigating Mourneview assault


Police are appealing for information after a report of an assault in the Mourneview area in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).

At around 2am, it was reported that a male was walking in the Sloan Street area when he was approached by a group of unknown males. It is believed the male was assaulted and received facial injuries during the incident. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

At this stage, police are treating the incident as a hate crime. Enquiries are continuing.

Police would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area them at Lurgan Police Station on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 184160814.
