‘Bring me Sunshine’ aims to strengthen family life

Local adults are invited to attend an evening event, hosted by international speaker on family issues and acclaimed author Rob Parsons, and comedy magician John Archer, which aims to offer amusing insights into family life.

The event, entitled Bring Me Sunshine, has been organised by national charity Care for the Family, whose aim is to strengthen family life and help those facing family difficulties. It will take place at Emmanuel Church in Lurgan on Thursday, June 19 from 7.30pm to 10pm.

The evening will offer a light-hearted look at the ups and downs of family life. Topics include: how to deal with a terrible two-year old, staying sane with a teenager and re-igniting the passion in your marriage.

Local pastor Phil Emerson said: “We are thrilled that the Care for the Family team are bringing laughter to Lurgan, and that we can provide a venue for this fabulous event for all the community. My family, like many others, is looking forward to this night of fun.”

Rob Parsons, founder of Care for the Family, said: “This event is all about bringing a little bit of sunshine into our lives. So often the power of laughter can be key to strengthening families. I’ll share humorous stories and lessons of family life gained from speaking with many parents from around the world.”

John Archer is the first man to fool Penn & Teller on ITV’s “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” show, hosted by Jonathan Ross.

He is described by comedian Tim Vine as “one of the funniest men I know”.

Tickets for the event cost £5 per person. Group discounts are also available. To reserve your place call (028) 9262 8050 or visit www.careforthefamily.org.uk/bms. Please book early.
