Plans are well underway for a new business to open up at the old site of House of Brindle in Windsor Avenue.

The property was sold at auction by Osborne King in November and workmen have been on site for the past couple of weeks, readying the premises to house a new cafe, bakery, deli, bookstore and art gallery.

Called New Haven, it will be run by Jenny Mullholland who worked for Marks and Spencer for the past 20 years as a store designer and planner and most recently had been general manager of the Sprucefield store.

New Haven is a joint venture with her brother William Shannon which should be open in April and create 10 new jobs.

The House of Brindle closed in April 2012 when owner David Calvert announced his retirement.
