When she was stopped for driving without insurance a 42-year-old woman did not realise her direct debit had not been paid.
Geraldine Haslem, Park Road, Portadown, was fined £300 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for not having insurance on March 5 this year.
She was also given six points and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.
The court heard that a police mobile patrol in Ulster Street, Lurgan, checked the defendant’s car on their computer system and found no insurance was in place.
Haslem, who pleaded guilty in court herself, said she had been paying by direct debit and had not realised it had not come out.
