Saturday night (November 22) will be a poignant one for local couple Conrad and Karen Newell.

They have arranged a charity night at the Planters Tavern, Waringstown to raise money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at The Royal Jubilee Hospital Belfast.

A few years ago the local couple arranged a Casino Night to raise money for the SANDS group (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society) in memory of their daughter Sarah who was stillborn, and this weekend would have marked her 16th birthday.

Conrad and Karen have turned a tragic time in their life to helping others and have raised money for a number of charities.

To mark Sarah’s 16th birthday, Saturday’s event is in the Planters where Conrad is the head chef. Robbie Mulligan, Matthew Anderson and Conrad will be braving a sponsored leg wax from Body Treats. Raffle tickets are on sale and are available on the evening and prizes include - one night B&B and evening meal at The Magherabuoy Hotel, £100 gift vouchers for LCC oil, £100 gift voucher for Marie Allen Photography, plus so many more! There is a signed framed 2014 Ulster Rugby shirt for auction so get your bids in!

Live music will be by Sunshine, come along and support a great cause.

Karen and Conrad thank all those who donated prizes, their services, facilities and their legs for the event and a special thank you to friends and family who worked hard to sell raffle tickets. They hope to see you all there.
