The ABC Council is pursuing its share of the £80m promised from Stormont two years ago for social investment, but still has failed to filter through to the projects it was meant for.

The issue was raised on Monday night by Alderman Hatch, who pointed out that letters of offer from the OFMDFM had been issued on 21 projects in the area –costing £4m - but had still not been finalised.

Mr Hatch said, “It has been very difficult to filter this money down to the community, and the council will be setting up meetings with Stormont to have projects up and running soon.”
