Year 12 pupils from schools in the Craigavon Area Learning Community (CALC) recently had the opportunity to attend a Careers Fair in the Civic Centre.
There, a wide range of representatives from Further and Higher Education, local industries and employers were on hand to give careers advice.
Pupils were able to explore a variety of pathways from apprenticeships to university courses and learn about career opportunities available in the local community as well as the skills and qualities required by employers.
Mrs Fiona Kane, Chair of CALC Principals, said: “Craigavon Area Learning Community is helping to develop links within local communities by improving and deepening relationships between schools and their pupils and by reaching out to local business leaders to find out how schools can work with them to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for the modern economy.”
Mrs Kane welcomed the event, adding, “We are keen to ensure that pupils in our local post-primary schools are equipped with the information they need about local employment opportunities both now and in the future.”
