Charles St attacks probed by police


Police are probing two separate vicious assaults within days in Lurgan’s Charles St.

Two men, aged 23 and 24 were attacked by four known men at around 1.30am on Friday April 10.

Constable Mike Currie said: “The assailants used a wooden bat and a golf club during the attack before making off in a small, silver car.”

On Monday night, April 13, a man aged 23 was assaulted on the same street.

“It was reported that three males assaulted him with an iron bar and he sustained lacerations to his head. The three assailants then made off in a dark coloured Volkswagen Golf.

“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this attack or has information in relation to it. We can be contacted in Lurgan on 101, quoting ref: 77 100415,” said Constable Currie.
